Introducing Our Dry Eye Center of Excellence

Dry eye syndrome happens when your eyes do not produce a consistent quality or an adequate amount of tears to lubricate your eyes. Recent statistics show that approximately 5 million Americans aged 50 years and older have this condition. As the millennial age sets in, we see this number rise gradually.

These circumstances and our commitment to help you achieve better eyesight encouraged our practice to open a Dry Eye Center of Excellence. Let us discuss the importance of adapting dry eye technology into our practice.

A More Focused Patient Treatment Plan

Our first step is still to perform a comprehensive eye exam in Reston, VA. A thorough assessment will help us confirm the presence of dry eye and pinpoint its causative factors. We can use the facility’s recent research work and the latest equipment to diagnose and better explain your condition.

This will help us create a more patient-focused management plan. Our experienced eye care team believes that with better understanding, patients will be more inclined to adhere to the recommended custom treatment plan.

Advanced Technology in Diagnosis Tools

Pior to opening our Dry Eye Center of Exellence, there were instances when we had to refer our patients to corneal specialists since we lacked the necessary tools to better diagnose the condition. Now that we have integrated advanced dry eye technology into our practice, we can now provide early detection of dry eye.

Apart from the eye exam, we can also perform tear osmolarity tests or “Lipiflow” to evaluate the extent of the eye disorder. These procedures offer a more objective assessment in diagnosing your condition. They will also help us determine if you need a different type of contact lenses in Tysons Corner, VA.

Prompt and Effective Management

Having a Dry Eye Center of Excellence ensures prompt management for your condition. This also allows us to provide better monitoring strategies for your condition. You can also enjoy greater peace of mind knowing that we have undergone the necessary training for managing dry eye disease.

Our new Dry Eye Center of Excellence also gives us the liberty to prescribe our in-office products, such as artificial teardrops or certain eyeglasses in Fairfax, VA. We can also perform corrective procedures, like punctual occlusions, in our dry eye center. This can save our patients time, money, and energy.

Through this innovation in our clinic, we can ensure an improved quality of life for you and your family. Call us today at (703) 938-7633 or submit an online contact form while you are here on our website.
